Hi, I'm Guilherme!
My Journey into Game Development
I'm a (CurrentYear - 2002)
year old university student who has been
passionate
about video games for as long as I can remember.
I believe video games serve as an
artistic expression first and foremost, and that's
what drives my passion to be part of this medium.
Early Days and Game Engines
I started making games in 2016 at the age of 13, initially using GameMaker. Not long after, I moved on
to
Unreal Engine 4 using blueprints and learning from YouTube tutorials. In 2017, I
released
my first
game on GameJolt made with Unreal Engine 4, which, surprisingly, has reached around 3400
downloads to this day.
Since then, I've moved to Unity, which I have been using for most of my
game-related academic
work. Although recently, I have returned to Unreal Engine (now using UE5 with C++) for a personal game project in my free time.
It's actually been pretty nostalgic coming back to Unreal after all these years 😅
Dedication and Goals
I'm an enthusiastic learner and someone who takes this vocation very seriously. I try my best to keep up with current industry standards and practices and I'm committed to using my software engineering skills to help game designers bring their visions to life and create awesome (and performant!) games.
